SonWii - Wii like remote control using your Sony phone

NirP Software is proud to announce the release of a software that uses the motion sensor of Sony Ericsson mobile phones to send motion data to PCs via bluetooth.  The software is titled SonWii.

It is my aim that this software will be used to develop PC games or used to provide control of already existing games.

The java program sends sensor + keystroke data over bluetooth.  Because data can be read off an emulated COM port on a PC (supported as standard by most bluetooth drivers), sensor data can now be accessed through most PC platforms/programming languages.  Thus, the possibilities for its use are limitless.

Great! I have just tried and I feel I must congratulate you. I will post a few you tube videos soon as well.

I am still looking through the COM port stuff as I am sure I can easily make a few more cool applications.

Ta!

Hello KeeF!, yes, this is similar to the Bluetooth Remote on Sony E phones BUT,

SonWii also sends sensor data to the PC so we can control stuff on the PC with the motion of the phone.

Also, the key pressess are sent in a way which is better suited for games, e.g. sending multiple keystrokes (e.g. useful for racing games where UP needs to be pressed with LEFT or RIGHT) - this is not supported in the Sony bluetooth remote.

Finally, the main advantage is that for PC programmers, they are able to deal with the sensor data/keystrokes however they want in their software.
