Im going to get myself a bluetooth dongle for this
But i have a question ![]()
In the future, is it going to be able to use your w910 or other phone as a mouse for windows?
Keep up the good work!
Greets, Guido
P.S. Sorry for my bad english, im from holland ![]()
admin said,
Guido, lol, your english reads fine!
I think this software is well worth a bluetooth dongle! In answer to your question, I believe this can be used as a mouse, I am actually working on the code for this right now. I will post if I get any further.

Cool! Im going to get me a BT dongle today i think, but when i can use it as a mouse… WHOAAAHHAOAHAOHAH that would be very cool ![]()
Guido said,
Hello!
Bought my BT Dongle today, it came with the Bluesoleil software, but now i have a problem…
In the section about COM-ports, it says that i must use Bluetooth Devices, under Windows Control Panel, but when i go there & check it out, there isn’t anything with Bluetooth, also not under Printers & Other Hardware. I can see the Incoming ports with “My Device Properties” from Bluesoleil, but when i establish a COM-connection with my phone via BlueSoleil, it only gives a Outgoing port COM-29. COM25 & COM26 are the INcoming ports, but i cant find a way how to connect with them
Can u help me please??
Guido
admin said,
Guido, worry not.
I am not too sure about the bluesoleil software, I personally would not use it as their are better software/drivers out there.
Before we look into something else, why dont you try running the PC software with the incomming ports? (25/26 - also try them both) and see what happens. I.e. if the bluesoleil software already gives you the ports, you will not need to follow the instructions on the website I had given.
Also, let me know what version of windows you are using.

i have the same prob with com port.any idea how to sort this out?im super keen on testing this:) thanks

admin said,
Ryan, do you know the drivers you are using to manage your bluetooth? — if its not windows drivers, you cannot use the method described in the reference website.
I will put up some better documentation later on for this problem! - but for now, try this…
Download the WIDCOMM bluetooth drivers - this beast will sort all bluetooth problems (be sure to remove existing drivers)
Once installed, simply go to the WIDCOMM properties and in one of the tabs, you will find the COM port settings.
Let me know if you run into difficulties.
ryan said,
thanks alot.will do that now:)
admin said,
Instructions on how to set up the WIDCOMM drivers for anyone having problems with the COM port is now ready at http://www.nirp.co.uk/motion/sonwii/help-with-com-ports/
Guido said,
Well, just updated to SP3, thought that maybe with a windows update, with my BT Dongle inserted, maybe it would download a BT Devices setting for the Control Panel, but unfortunately, it didn’t… Well, i have one more question, that WiDDCOMM drivers, i want to install them, but how do you mean remove excisting drivers, do you mean, just uninstall the hardware under Device Management? Or do you mean something else, cuz i think if i just uninstall the sh*t, and i insert my BT Stick a second time, that it just grabs the bluesoleil / sweex drivers. One more question
Does bluesoleil include drivers, or is it just a program for BT Data Transfer and stuff??
Greets,
Guido
Guido said,
Oh yeah, if i try the Sensor Tester with Port 25 & 26, it just says “There was an error setting and/or opening the port, please make sure it isnt already opened”
Im running Windows XP Service Pack 3.
admin said,
Guido - I am not 100% sure about the Bluesoleil drivers - infact, I know nothing about it at all.
At a guess, the following should work for you. 1- remove anything you can find of Bluesoleil from Add/Remove programs. 2- Install the WIDCOMM drivers according to the instructions on this site (i.e. dont worry about removing what is left over from removal from step 1.
Let me know how you get on.
admin said,
Guido - just to make sure… connect to the COM port using my PC program before you make a bluetooth connection using your mobile.
Anyway, tell me what happens with the WIDCOMM drivers.
Guido said,
Oh and another question (sorry for triple posting) could u provide me a link for the Widcom drivers? Cuz when i google them, its showing a lot of drivers, but dunno which one to pick:p
But i really must say, that if this is going to work, theres finally something nice for the w910i
Cuz its DB3150 platform i cant customize & pimp & unlock my phone, but this is ten times better ![]()
admin said,
Guido - no problem - go here for details: http://www.nirp.co.uk/motion/sonwii/help-with-com-ports/
Re the new platform, true, its actually very boring right now… have so many flash menus waiting to be added!
ryan said,
hey
ive uninstalled all my drivers and downloaded the one you suggested but when i enter in the port it just says start listening so i click on that but then no error message comes up but nothing happens.if you could help to get this to work i will jump for joy:)
thanks
ryan said,
ive even tried this on my C902 and still no luck:(
admin said,
Ryan - you have it working actually! - the PC program is waiting for the bluetooth connection to be made. The button on the PC program should now say “Stop listening” — I will need to make this more visible.
Once the button says “Stop listening”, simply fire up SonWii on your mobile and make the bluetooth connection.
As soon as the connection is established, the ball will start bouncing on the PC screen.
Let me know if you have problems.
ryan said,
it makes the connection but no ball appears.any suggestions?
Guido said,
Hey man thanks, but how do i completely remove all the drivers?? Uninstall them in Device Management or just remove Bluesoleil shit in Software under Control Panel?
Greets, Guido
admin said,
ryan - Not sure whats going on. Please tell me:
1 - the incomming COM port on your Bluetooth Config window.
2 - on the pc prog, does the text change to “Stop listening”?
3 - Have you tried this on w910i (as I have only tested it on the w910i phone)
3 - do you know how to use Hyperterminal? (Start-> run -> “Hypertrm” -> OK
4 - If you know how to use Hperterminal, try listening to the same com port while SonWii is running to see if you see the data sent. let me know what happens if you try this.
Also, try a few more times with the current PC prog (restart it) and see what happens. before each try, be sure to quit SonWii fully (so that the bluetooth link is restarted). Also, I am sure, you have already done this, but just to make sure - remember to allow bluetooth link on both the phone and the PC when asked. Once a bluetooth link has been established, the WIDCOMM bluetooth icon on the treybar turns Yellow on Blue (and not white on Blue). If you dont see the icon change, a bluetooth link has not be established regardless of what you see on SonWii and on my PC prog.
admin said,
Guido - I think software under Control panel should be enough
Guido said,
Thats shit, cuz there aint software ![]()
Guido said,
OOPS, I looked wrong, so u sayin, just remove Bluesoleil is enough??
admin said,
Guido - I am totally gussing, but yeh, I think removing Bluesoleil is enough! (Total guess, but thats what I would try first)
Guido said,
And could u please add a link in your tutorial for the drivers? cuz it says go to it, but it isnt a hyperlink ![]()
admin said,
Guido - done! ta
ryan said,
comm port 14,yeah it changes to stop listening, but it gave me 2 other comm ports 4 and 5 tried those aswell still no luck, when i use hyperterminal it askes to create a new connection and once i have done this it says no dial tone.ive stopped useing the C902.guess tonight just not my nite.
Guido said,
Weird, when i install WC drivers, it says, NO bluetooth device was detected, should i install it NEXT TO Bluesoleil, so that it is recognized as a BT device??
Guido said,
well ,think i must do that, but ill do it tomorrow, now im gonna sleep ![]()
Hey admin, is your code for mouse integration coming along a lil bit??
Keep up the good work and sleep well
Greets,
GUido
admin said,
Guido - you have to make sure that the USB blutooth dongle is in the USB port before you fire up the WIDCOMM software. If the Bluesoleil tries to fire up too, try to stop it. If not possible, just let Bluesoleil install whatever it wants, then continue with WIDCOMM.
ryan said,
hey guido
you can use your phone as a mouse as long as you have a bluetooth connection.i use it all the time especially 4 power point presentations
admin said,
Ryan - give me a screenshot of your bluetooth config windows so that I can see for myself these ports. ?I havent come across multiple ports for the same thing.
On hyperterminal, on the “make a new connection window”, simply select the COM port you wish to listen to and click ok… then ok on the new window.
Hopefully you will not give up on this lightly!
admin said,
I think Guido is talking about controlling the pointer with the motion of the phone. I am working on that now, but I can see its going to take quite a while. Have a good night Guido!
ryan said,
nah dont wory never give up until i get it working, its to cool to just giv up:)
admin said,
ryan - ta, such problems provide a great bug rooting opportunity for me!
Forgot to say, just email me the screenshot to root@nirp.co.uk
GUido said,
Well, ive tried everything i could think of, but the installer of Widcomm still says :’No Bluetooth Device found” or something like that….
Isnt there a way with bluesoleil??
gr. Guido
admin said,
Guido, sorry for the late reply. I do not know anything about the Bluesoleil drivers as never used it before. All I can suggest you try is paring using the Bluesoleil driver then making only one COM port active (by removing the extra ones if there are any - I do not know how to do this using your drivers so you have to look around) and trying to connect using that single COM port.
The other thing you can try is setting up the bluetooth dongle on a different PC using the WIDCOMM drivers - that way, you can work out if the dongle is truly being detected or not (or is due to the existing Bluesoleil stuff on your PC)
Guido said,
Okay, thank you, im going to try to find out with bluesoleil i think…. hope it works ![]()
GUido said,
Well, tried it with bluesoleil, but i didnt succeed….
shiiit, i would be so happy if this would work….
well, ill try something..

vincent said,
would you be able to port this for w580i? It also has an accelerometer, and don’t say otherwise because it is an accelerometer not a tilt sensor. When i try to install the java applet it gives me application error.
thanks
admin said,
vincent, Sorry, I cant help you with this. The w580i does have a sensor, but it only detects movement in one direction - this is not helpful for anything at all. Further, the worse part is that sensor data on the w580i can not be accessed through any code.
I know this because I had the w580i before my w910i. Sorry.
Guido said,
Hello!
Well, i just wanted to let you know that i still didnt succeed ![]()
But could you please install BlueSoleil on your computer and try something, cuz i am almost sure that this can be done as well with bluesoleil, but im new to the bluetooth things, so probably im doing something wrong…
Greets & Thnx
Guido
admin said,
Guido - I just installed the BlueSoleil software on my PC and I could not get it to detect my device.
The only thing I can suggest you do is to remove BlueSoleil from your PC from ADD/remove progs. Then, connect your bluetooth dongle to a USB port you have NOT connected it to before. Then, install windows own bluetooth drivers.
After that, pair your device and make a note of the incoming com port on the last screen of the pair wizard. Use that incoming port number on the PC app.
Also make sure you set PC discoverable on.
Let me know how you get on.
vincent said,
the w580 detects in four directions not 1 as opposed to the six directions of the w910. the w580 has an x and y axis but not a z axis and there is a flash script to get accelerometer data or some script because i have an elf on my phone which displays accelerometer data on my screen. the fitness app must use some action script or something to count distance and stuff reverse engineer that or something
Guido said,
Uhm, well , now i’ve got another problem
if i uninstall the whole stuff, and then plugin my BT dongle, windows cant find drivers for it :S
Guido said,
yeeyeeh:D
I succeeded, windows wouldnt recognize my donlgle, but this is the trick for ISSCEDRBTA BT Dongles:
Add the following to lines to C:\Windows\Inf\Bth.inf
[Cambridge.NT.5.1]
Cambridge Generic Radio= BthUsb, USB\Vid_1131&Pid_1001
Okay, now my w910 is charging, so im going to try SonWii later this day ![]()
And another question
how far are you with your Mouse program ?? :D:D
Guido said,
Okay, now that ive done all of that, the program still says “Make sure the COM Port isnt already open”, i tried installing Widdcom drivers, but that still doesnt work. Also, I cant connect FROM my W910i TO my PC, then it says “Bluetooth Connection Failed” on w910i.
Can u please help me??
Guido
admin said,
Guido - I can see you desperately want this to work! I dont blame you, good on you!
First - “Also, I cant connect FROM my W910i TO my PC, then it says “Bluetooth Connection Failed” on w910i.” - I have the same problem with my phone. Dont worry about this. I think this is a flaw with the phone, but thats fine. The point is that you have successfully paired the devices.
“Make sure the COM Port isnt already open” -> remember to start listening to the COM port BEFORE you run SonWii on your phone. If you are already doing this, e.ail me your hotmail ID if you do have one, then I can help you over MSN because I am sure we can get this sorted!
admin said,
Guido - Re the mouse prog. Its almost complete. I will release it tomorrow along with a video of a game being played.
admin said,
VINCENT - any chance you could send me a copy of this flash app? I had no idea about this feature of the w580i. Perhaps there is a way to access the motion sensor. Unfortunately, Flash doesnt do bluetooth and I dont think Java can access the sensor on the w580i. But I will investigate this carefully for you.

vincent said,
here it is this it the pocket trainer idk if it has any accelerometer data in this but i cant find the fitness app. i will put the elf in here as well with the source.
http://rapidshare.com/files/131728481/accelerometer_stuff_for_w580.zip.html
admin said,
Vincent - I am not aware of the Elf filetype and can not find a decoder for this (I presume this is a compiled file that runs on the w580i)
I have consistently found that Java can not be used to access accelerometer data - e.g. https://developer.sonyericsson.com/thread/45010
I am not at all sure about the poket trainer as I dont have my w580i anymore. If i recall correctly, its not the one that detects the accelerometer data but just displays its results and graphs.
“i will put the elf in here as well with the source.” - There was no source in the zip file.
Guido said,
Okay, well thanks for all your help, and youre right, i would very like it if this is going to work
well, this is my hotmail ID: guido_h14@hotmail.com
I really hope this is gonna work ![]()
Guido said,
And its really cool that youre gonna release the mouse app today ![]()
But did u also think of automatic starting, when windows starts? So that it is a bit integrated in windows?? or do we just need to put it in the Start-up folder of windows???
gr.
Guido
vincent said,
sorry i forgot the source but you should be able to find it easily. The elf is compiled in C and they have elfs for every sony ericsson phone
Guido said,
Just installed v0.3, works fine ![]()
admin said,
Guido - ta for the test! Sorry about the delay of the mouse prog! believe me, it will be released tonight!
admin said,
Vincent - I can’t seem to find the source at all! I am sorry. If you come across it, please send me a copy and I promise to have a look at it.
Ian said,
hi im new to this but when i run sonwii and try and connect to my computer with my phone it says error java.lang.classcastexception
any ideas on what this is?? cheers
admin said,
Ian - exactly when do you get this error? which screen?
Ian said,
when i enter my com port on the sensor tester and click start searching, i then go on to my phone an click search i find the pc an press ok an then i get that message
admin said,
Ian - which phone are you using. Make sure you have enabled bluetooth on your SE and on the PC (set discovery on). Also, try reinstalling SonWii.
Oskar said,
Hi! I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this all-out awesome application! It works just fine, but I would like an option in the key-mapper where you can flip the up/down thingy… Like now, you tilt the phone forward to move the mouse pointer down, I would like to be able to change it so that you tilt the phone the other way, could it be done? And also, mapping for the left and right softkeys and game buttons (the ones that’s located above the screen, on each side of the video conversation camera and speaker) would be nice. Just a few thoughts… And again, Thank You!
admin said,
Oskar, what you say can be done quite easily. The only problem is that I have stopped development. If you have specific request(s), reply and I will put something together when I have time.
Oskar said,
Okay, I would like keymapping for the left and right softbuttons and gamebuttons. That’s all. Nothing more.

Hi,
I’m using Bluesoleil as vista bluetooth doesn’t detect my bt dongle and I can’t install Widcomm because it also doesn’t detect my bt dongle.
Anyway, I’ve managed to connect my W910i with my PC incoming port. But on the sensor test whenever i try to listen i get this:
run-time error ‘8020′:
error reading comm device
I googled this and i can’t find a fix. Any tips? Thanks in advance!
PS: I’m reallly looking forward to get this working! lol.
admin said,
Afia - Try the SonWii KM mapper (http://www.nirp.co.uk/motion/sonwii/pc-applications-sonwii/) and let me know if you have the same problem. Also let me know what your Incoming port is.
Afia said,
Yup, one step ahead of you. I tried that aswell. Still received the same error. I’m using incoming port 11. But everything else including HID is working fine.
I read on microsoft that the problemit is something with my BT dongle’s driver. I guess I have to actiavte my bluesoleil first as now i’m only restriceted to 2MB download. I’m still trying to look around for a patch =P. I’ll let you know how it goes on.
But still, if you have anymore suggestion, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
admin said,
Afia, I dont think I can be help you on this because I know almost nothing about the bluesoleil drivers. I had no idea you had to activate it as well, but let me know how it goes.
Also, why is it that you cant use winows own drivers?
A further thing is to try hyper terminal to see if you are actually getting bluetooth data coming from the phone through sonWii. Vista doesnt have hyperterminal so you will need to download a win XP copy off the net.
Let me know how you get on.

Hello!
Man…i am using bluesoleil driver coz the WIDCOMM drivers don`t work (says “No bluetooth device found”)…and i connected my k850i at the comp..and it works fine but when i try your PC software and set the port to “listening” after the phone connects via SonWii i get the same error message as oskar…i think the bluesoleil is blocking the bt port….and your program freezez…
PS: Can u give me the exact link of the WIDCOMM drivers?…maybe i got the wrong ones
Benja said,
Amazing!!! I’ve looking for this piece of software for months, I almost started developing it by myself, but here it is, congratulations ;)!!!
It worked perfectly with my SE k850i and WinXP!!!!
Thanks a lot!
Afia said,
Because the Windows Vista doesn’t detect my BT dongle. I tried installing Widcomm aswell and it just says Bluetooth not found. I’ve tried editing bth.inf file aswell but still vista doesn’t detect my BT adapter.
So I tried this so that vista can work with bluesoleil: When i got the “found new hardware”; I tried browsing to the Bluesoleil software but I could only see folders and no .exe files or .inf files. I can see applications files fine only on windows explorer. So, I still had to install Bluesoleil separately at which my BT dongle works perfectly. Whilst the vista bluetooth still doesnt detect my dongle.
I don’t know muh about hyperterminal but i did download an xp version and checked the connection of my com port and a bunch of numbers with motion came up so i guess my bluetooth data is coming from the phone. Besides, the SonWii app data changes to “Bluetooth Connection Made. Data being Sent” with that picture of th globe and hand. It’s just the ball won’t come up. I still get the
run-time error ‘8020′:
error reading comm device
Anyway, didn’t find a bluesoleil patch. just got a few viruses from torrent but luckily my Avast! Antivirus stopped it =).
So, I’ll just buy a new BT dongle that works readily with Vista BT stack. And then I can map WonWii to the arrow keys on my keyboard and play NFSC! I’ll use my phone as a steering wheel =D.
Afia said,
oops! I meant “SonWii”. Thanks for your time though! It’s an awesome app!
jigs said,
hi its nice
admin said,
Afia - interesting. Technically, you should not need to buy a new bluetooth device as if it already works on hyperterminal, it should work on my prog too. I cant understand why you are getting that error. I did some research and it is likely to be a problem with the drivers for the device, but I still dont fully understand it. (http://www.xtremevbtalk.com/archive/index.php/t-246011.html)… getting a new bluetooth device may solve the problem
Also, re using it as a steering wheel. Interesting idea, but currently, with the KM mapper, it will not work. you will need to write some other pc prog to do this. This is because currently, the KM mapper app doesnt translate motion to key strokes. Easy enough to do tho if you know any pc languages.
admin said,
Sw3n - I am sorry to hear of this problem. I have no idea what if going on but it may be something to do with your drivers. WIDCOMM may not work for you, but try their drivers again: http://www.broadcom.com/products/bluetooth_update.php
Let me know what happens.

Ro - thank you for the information. I am sure this can be sorted but I have currently stopped making changes to the KM mapper as this is meant to be a demo application.
I am currently working on a new version of SonWii and a new KM mapper application will follow. At the moment, its difficult to say when I will release these.

Hi,
I do not know yet, but i hope your software is great. I have the same problem as a lot of others. When i run Bleumotion and try and connect to my computer with my phone it says detected error:java.lang.classcastexception. I already tried till I dropped dead, if i try it a second time my phone K850I tells detected error:java.lang.classcastexception and that it is already connect, so it seems really weird to me.
Hopefully a genius as you
can figure out a solution
admin said,
ZeD - Sorry, I have no idea how to get it working on LG phones. I do not know how to check sensor information on it. I have only tested this on my sony phone and Do not have any other phones to test it on. Sorry!
admin said,
Yannick - this is a nightmare problem, I cant seem to find out what is causing this! Let me know exactly when you get the error. Is it at:
1. Searching for PCs
2. Selecting a PC to connect to
3. Once connection to the PC is established
Is there any additional error message?
Ta
Yannick said,
Well,
First is look up the (incoming) com-port which is 8 in my case.
Then I open Bleumotion Ball on the pc.
I start listening to port ‘8′
then is start the application bleumotion on my cellphone
I choose ok followed by search, than I choose ”choose” when my pc is found
Then I get the message”There was the following error:java.lang.ClasscastException”. I can choose for nothing else but ”ok”. After pressing ok i get in the screen again with the available computers, i pick ”Choose” again. Then i get again a ”Bluemotion-message”:”message”There was the following error:javax.bluetooth.BluetoothConnectionException: already have connection on channel 1.”
Hopefully it is a bit more clear to you;)
admin said,
Yannick - yes, i now understand where you are getting the error. It may take me a little while to understand how to sort this! I will be in touch with you once sorted/if cant solve. Ta for the info
