Common problems
This page has been set up in an attempt to answer the common problems. I will post solutions as needed.
“error:java.lang.ClassCastException” or other similar errors - I have looked high and low for a solution for these errors… unfortunately, I cannot currently help anyone out with this. I did hear from one user of BlueMotion that he solved a similar problem by “changing bluetooth drivers“. I e-mailed him for his solution but I got no reply. If anyone finds the working driver, please please share it with the rest of us!!
“There was an error opening the COM port” - I have looked at the info on COM port already yet I can’t get it to work! help me!!
No problem. If you know you have entered the correct incoming COM port, it means that an important file needs to be replaced to get this thing working. Do the following:
- Go to ‘\windows\System 32\’ folder
- Find a file called mscomm32.oxc (dont worry if it doesnt exist)
- If it exists, make a back up of it somewhere - incase you need to replace it later
- Download the updated file - from here!
- Put this downloaded file into the ‘\windows\System 32\’ folder (replace the old file if necessary.
- Try running the PC app again
“MSCOMM32.OCX missing” or some similar error.
No problem, simply download the file above!
COM ports? - What are they and why do I need to enter one?
Visit this page to understand more about COM ports!

Will, have you tried the KM application to see if that works for you? Its at: http://www.nirp.co.uk/motion/bluemotion/pc-applications-bluemotio/
Other thing is, are you able to transmit files between pc/phone using your bluetooth connection?

Hi!
I am trying to use BlueMotion to control my PC Pointer but I can’t get this working.
I have just installed BlueMotion in my W910i and BlueMotionKM, BMBall and BMData in my PC, but nothing works…
I can pair both devices and see that COM port 6 is working, but when I run BlueMotion in W910i, press OK for the first screen and search in the next one, it says “Bluetooth currently off. Turn it on?”
If I press ok it starts searching, but never finds anything even with BMData or BMBall or BMKM runing on the PC.
I use MyPhoneExplorer to connect my W910i to my laptop via Bluetooth and it works fine.

Hi again!
If one BM application is working in the PC while the mobile is trying to connect and I press “start listening” in another BM application, the following error message appears: “There was an error setting and or opening the port. Please make sure its not already open.”
If BlueMotion is not runing in the mobile and I press Start searching in any BM application in the PC, the mobile shows a message that the PC is requesting access to the phone. I press Yes and nothing happens. Then I start BlueMotion in the mobile and press Search, but it never finds anything…
Thank you,
Leo Prates

it’s working, no more error:java.lang.ClassCastException.
solution: use widcomm bluetooth software v 5.5 and above.
another issue: there is a small delay at response time, not really annoying though, but if used to control fast response game ex:racing, become a serious issue.
finnally, it’s a really good job, better be open source if you don’t want to develop this masterpiece anymore, let the community do the magic ![]()
